PETA Displeased With Obama Fly Swat
This post comes to you direct from the, “you’re freaking kidding me,” department.
Did you catch President Obama swatting that fly in a television interview Tuesday? PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) did and they are none too happy about it. The organization says it would like the President to have a more humane attitude toward flies in the White House. After all, I guess they should be considered, “First Flies,” since they reside at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
The Associated Press is reporting that PETA is sending the President a device that will allow him to trap an insect and then release it outside. The story says PETA supports, “compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals.” (You should see me trying to type this with a straight face)
Didn’t want to do it, but PETA has now forced me to play the, “what if,” game.
What if President Obama actually starts using this device as opposed to his, “the insect stops here,” policy adopted Tuesday? Hmmm, let’s see…the President catches and releases a creature back out into the world that is known to carry germs and is capable of transmitting diseases such as typhoid fever, diarrhea, dysentery, cholera, trachoma and perhaps tuberculosis and polio. The overwhelming benefits of that scenario would apparently allow all those PETA people to go to sleep each night with a clear conscience.
I think I now know why I’ve never been hired by PETA. I just don’t think I’ve got the smarts to work for them. — vk

How easy that is to say. But it is one of those simple statements like “I dropped the atom bomb and it went off.” This was the most detailed and thorough inspection I had ever experienced and I was exceedingly happy that I had found that lockpick first.
